A couple days ago I asked which name people liked best. Everyone seemed to like my husband and I's favorite as well....Brennen Joseph. Some people did say they would spell it Brennan. I didn't know if that looked too feminine so here is my new question:

I guess it just depends on how you want the people to emphasis the last syllable.
If it was me reading the name.. i guess if you spell it with an "an" i'd say "an" at the end, and if you spelled it with an "en" i'd be more inclined to say Brennin. Sorry if that was confusing.
I prefer the spelling Brennen though.

Brennan is the traditional Anglicized spelling (Irish names rarely end in -en), and with the current trend toward purposefully misspelling a masculine name to *somehow* make it appear more feminine, I would be much more likely to assume either of the other spellings was exactly that -- an attempt to alter the spelling to indicate femininity. So no, Brennan is most certainly NOT "too feminine" a choice ... but the others possibly could be.

Ps. Regarding the above comment about Brennan being too close to Brenna ... um, that sort of makes sense, since Brenna is the feminine form of BRENNAN. LMBO

I think Brennen Joseph is great. But I would spell it with the 'A' as it looks better but not feminine. Otherwise the 'o' instead
Brennan Joseph looks more polished if that makes sense!

I would go with Brennan. It's not too feminine because the name is for a boy so any spelling it okay. I think Brennan looks best though.

I like Brennon. The o plays on the Joseph. It sounds a bit like Brandon, though. You might get a couple of wrong spellings occasionally.
I also like Brennan.
