Self esteem issues? You may think that one on one may lead the other person to see flaws you subconsciously think you have? Maybe you don't believe in you intellect or self-worth enough? Maybe if you realize that every one is different and you are a beautiful person. Realize that there is no need to be shy or awkward because most everyone might feel some tension one on one. People are just people, never put someone above you. That awkward silence happens. It's just part of conversations, don't let it get to you. Maybe try top make a joke or start up a new point to get over that hump.
Best wished, luck, and love -Steve

The other person is just as worried as you are about that silence. Next time you are in a situation where you are one on one....allow the silence to happen, and watch what the other person does. Temporarily you are in charge of the silence and you can see what the other person says...you would be surprised what you can learn from someone, when there is silence and they want to fill it OR they might feel that you are open to listening to what they have to say!
Embrace what you fear in doing so you might cultivate one of your greatest strengths...! Good luck!

You probably just feel like the attention is all on you --I know I feel that way. Maybe just start with people you feel closest / most comfortable to? There is such thing as a COMFORTABLE silence, you know. :)

Your so opposite of me, i like one on one conversations. It's more personal, deep since the topic is less superficial. It's hard to be personal with alot of people. You may like to stick with lighter fun topics, and be an extrovert.
