Depends on the type of pet.. Certain diseases can be carried by pets.. Rabies, or "cat scratch fever" or "bird flu" and there's one that's transmitted through parrots cant remember the name ! Although rare.. Or an animal may bring parasites into the home.. Such as fleas/ticks. They meaning the pets may pee/poop inside the home if not properly trained. Or they may be aggressive and attack or bite if not properly trained.. It depends on the pet and how it's taken care of and trained and the amount of time that is spent with the owner.... Good luck
