i know that there are some websites that charge a fee for each trade. so do you need a broker to trade online or can you just simply do it all by yourself?

When you are online the site is your broker and thats why they are charging you a fee. You gotta do it yourself - buy / sell.

If you want a broker you gotta go to the exchange and find a member who can trade for you.

You'd need to go through some broker - a lot of them have websites where you can enter your trade request online and never actually talk to a person.

It's expensive to have a broker at home.......unless you have an extra room and can afford his food.
