It is one thing to claim you can beat a Clinton and another to do it. Just ask George Bush I.

Fred Thompson seems to have a very cynical voting record and more ambition than qualifications. He may have more than Mr. Giuliani, who was an indifferently effective Mayor, but neither can match Democrats like Hillary Clinton or Joe Biden.

A better question would be: is there a Republican candidate whose experience justifies their Presidential ambitions?

No Giuliani wasn't even a good mayor. Fred can't beat Hillary, he can't even get the GOP nomination. He says he's pro-life yet he made gazillions lobbying for a pro-abortion group. Even republicans can't stand that much hypocracy.

Whoa! Hold your horses. It is a little too early to count the chicks. Let's see how Mr. Thompson comes across as a campaigner. He has not done anything but announce his candidacy so far.

I like the guy but I want to see how motivated, energetic and attractive to the rest of America he is.

If Thompson were elected, I think he'd be wise to choose any of these three people as his vice-presidential running mate:
3. Barack Obama (yes - I know he's a Democrat))
2. John McCain
1. Ron Paul

Anyone in the Republican party could beat Hillary if the Clintons didn't threaten anyone who speaks out against them.

People think Bush is fascist. Don't know what a fascist is. If Hillary is elected the Government will have more power over the people than any point in US history and it would take a miracle for the country not to collapse

The liberal wienie Giuliani would actually cost Thompson votes. He needs to get in the liberal party where he belongs.

Thompson couldn't defeat Hilliary, but a Guliani/Thompson ticket could.

Oh good, that means I can vote for Obama since he can't beat Obama but can beat Clinton.
