many people have different views on the poem "Invictus". What do you think it means?

Since June 11, 2001, that poem is inseparably connected to Timothy McVeigh, who used it as his final statement before being executed for the Oklahoma City bombings. I can't get past that in order to enjoy the poem on its own merits anymore.

I think it means no matter how difficult life may be, our inner self can remain strong. I really like that poem.
