I've always been anemic due to beta-thalassemia, but after working about 5 hours at work, I start to feel exhausted, thirsty, and dizzy. I feel I need to put my feet up, but the problem is that I really dont have anywhere I can do that without everyone watching me and wondering whats wrong.

My blood pressure is always low, even though I smoke about a pack a day. I'm afraid to quit smoking because I think my blood pressure will even get lower, and cause me to become even more dizzy. Oh, one other thing is that I get big salt cravings about every week, I usually eat a large bag of chips just to satisfy my salt cravings. Is there anything else I can do to increase my blood pressure?

Please help. What can I do?

I've gone to my doctor about this before, and he's run a bunch of blood tests, but everything comes back as normal. Except for mild anemia he says is from my beta-thalassemia.
Problem is that I'm so exhausted, I feel debillatated after working just a few hours. By the afternoon, people ask me if I'm ok, because my eyes are dry and I can hardly open them. I feel like I'm dying.

My blood pressure usually is 90/60. A couple times it was 86/60.

Smoking wipes out all of the B vitamins in your body. If you are anemic this is very serious. Stopping smoking is going to be the best thing you could ever do for yourself. your blood pressure is not going to go down when you stop smoking. The dizziness will probably disappear when you are not oxygen deprived from cigarette smoke.

Start taking a good quality Multivitamin twice daily to start rebuilding your body.

Nutrition is very important with this condition as with any serious physical condition. Avoid caffeine products, sugar, processed foods and fried foods. Low blood sugar (Hypoglycemia) is often a factor in causing fatigue. That is why a good nutrition program is very important, eating frequent small meals with some protein is very important in keeping the blood levels even.

Whole grains, seeds, nuts, yogurt, chicken, Turkey, organic beef, eggs, natural cheese and cottage cheese should form the base of your diet. Accompanied by Appropriate vegetables and a minimum amount of fruit.

A good quality multi-vitamin is absolutely essential with this condition. It's important to replace what the body loses daily. If a person takes no other supplement but a multi-vitamin they're helping to support their body daily. Co Q 10, in soft gel form 100mg, taken three times daily can help increase the energy

Perhaps you need a multivitamin every day.

As regards your low blood pressure perhaps it is not low at all. Some people are under the false impression that anything lower than 120/80 is low because 120/80 is regarded as normal. The further below 120/80 the better down to 90/60 which is absolutely excellent. Below 90/60 is too low.

I would eat as healthy as possible. I find that when I do not eat breakfast, my health goes down that day.
