my cpu keeps freezing before i get to the log in screen like u know the screen that is sayys like for example windows xp home edition 95-02 and it ahs the logo it freezes every 6 seconds. and keeps loading and never lets me in

sounds like u got a corrupt boot.ini file. U need a windows xp disc ( the original from microsoft, not from hp or compaq) and need to go into the recovery console and type in "fixboot" and "mbrfix"
