My goal is to become a vet, but with the schools being so limited i'm nervous about getting in. I understand that you need four years of school and then another 4 years of veterinary school. I live in New York so ofcourse I would want to attend Cornell but i think that's a little bit of a stretch since it's so hard to get into (I'll try my hardest anyway though) so I was thinking about the universit of maryland at college park. I have not taken my SAT's but I do expect it to be at a minimum of 1200. Will I have a chance if I do really well my first four years of college?

I was also wondering if they would look at my highschool transcript, not that it's bad but the only AP classes i will have are physics and bio. thanks in advance!

As you seem to already know, Vet school is extremely hard to get into, especially Cornell. Vet schools do not look at you HS transcripts or the SATs, only your college transcripts. You will also need to take the GRE. The previous poster mentioned the VCAT. While some schools will accept the VCAT, it is not required to take at most schools (to my knowledge). However, the GRE is and you need to score well on it. But getting into Vet school is more than high GPA and GRE scores. You will most likely have to interview at the school, submit letters of refernece and have some experience in a veterinary clinic setting (many vet students will be a vet tech for a year or so before being admitted in Vet school). You will need to check out each schools admissions page to find out the exact requirements to get in. Also, while it is always good to aim high. I would apply to more than Cornell and UMCP.

Good luck

No, vet school will not look at your HS record or SAT at all.

You will need a very solid science background at a good school to get in vet school. It's very competitive but not as bad as some others.

The key is going to be having an exceptional college record no matter where you go to get your bachelor's. Vet schools have their own version of the SAT called the VCAT - Veterinary College Admissions Test. You'll complete that toward the end of your bachelor's degree and need to score well on it.

By the time you're applying for admissions to a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine program, nobody really cares how you did in high school (just how you did in college).
