no except when you file joint income tax then they will take every penny of your refund if you are in the rears.

The only person held accountable for paying child support from previous relationship's is the sperm donor himself , not the new sperm carrier.
Its law in Australia that when a man remarries it doesnt matter if his new wife has kids from her previous relationship he still is responsible to pay for the child with the past spouse
they dont care if he has a new family to feed / clothe / educate and if he and the new wife have a child/ren all that will do is drop about .1 % of his earnings towards the older child/ren .
Why would you think your new wife is responsible financially for your other child is my question.

I've known people that when they got remarried they also looked into the new wife finances b/c now that she is the new Mrs, she is just as equally responsible. At least thats how the judge saw it.

Technically no. But I heard that if you and your wife file taxes together, but you owe back child support, they will deduct your tax refund to take what is owed.
Bottom line is supposedly the answer is no, but there are always loopholes.

good judgment could depict "NO", as you had not something to do with impregnating this woman. i be attentive to that interior the State of Louisiana (and maximum others) you easily does not be liable for this debt. Canada, even with the shown fact that, has some rather unusual rules touching on newborn help. i think of the letter is addressed to the two considered one of you on account which you have been married, not on account which you the two owe this debt. Your EX owes it and likely, they are able to and could withhold any tax refunds he could have coming. this shouldn't pertain to you in any respect. Google the newborn help rules on your state, or call an lawyer which you would be able to desire to be attentive to. One question over the telephone will maximum probable be unfastened .........solid good fortune.

Yes, when you marry you inherit all the bad as well as the good. My first marriage I got nailed when my first tax return came around because my ex-wife failed to tell me she was behind on her taxes and student loans, guess who ended up paying, yeah. Needless to say I kicked her to the HO curb and left.
