I got a shot of Penicillin then the next day i was feeling a whole lot better. I was around someone who i believe got the strep from me and i was in contact with thier saliva. Will the shot that i got less than a day ago, help prevent me from getting the strep again.

Strep can be a serious infection and is treated after a positive test w/oral antibiotics for 10-14 days. It's contagious as long as you have it. Note: some strep bacteria are part of your normal bacterial flora in mouth, nose and on skin. Only pathogenic strep needs to be treated.

Actually antibiotics are used as a cure rather than to prevent getting any sickness so my guess is that you will probable get it all over again, but you should know better than to suck face with someone that has strep throat in the first place regardless.
sorry............. my bad

You should be ok if you recently had it and you got a shot of penicillin within a day.

you are contagious up to 24 hrs after your shot. if you had contact with someone within the 24 hrs and they got it, most likely you passed it on.
