sorry; i didnt know how to write two to the third power on here. >.<

I believe you do this, always start in the parentheses:
5(8-4) + 27 * 2
5(4) + 54
20 + 54
=74

You do what is in the parenthesis first so 2^3 - 4 = 2*2*2 -4 = 8-4=4; so you have 5(4) +27 *2 next step is mutiplication and 5*4 = 20 and 27*2 =54 so you end up with 20+54=74

Actually the answer is just 74

5(2^3)= 20
27x2 = 54
54+20=74
