For my English class I have to do a speech on the God's of the underworld from Edith Hamilton's Mythology. I also have to find a way for people to remember Hades (God of the underworld). The teacher's example was for Zeus and it was that Zeus starts with Z, and Z comes at the end of the alphabet so everyone comes before him, so he's the most important God. What should I say that will make people remember Hades? The only thing I have so far is that Hades starts with an H and so does hot, and the underworld is hot, so Hades is the God of the underworld...

hades roman name was Pluto, and Pluto is the farthest planet from the sun and the since the sun is like the center of the universe, well just like Pluto the underworld is not the center of the universe in fact it is the opposite

christian mythology interchanges Hell with Hades...thats one way to put it. In fact, the english word Hell originates from the Greek word Hades (in the original greek spelling which i cant remember right now, sorry)
If you put H for hot i think u will not get full credit, the Greek underworld was not only a place of punishment. It was split between reward and punishment. The good got good treatment in Hades, and the bad were tortured for eternity in Hades.

First off, Hades is not hot--The realm of Hades is a dark place and Hades rules over this place. Hades has five letters. There are five rivers in Hades; Acheron, Cocytus, Lethe, Phlegethon. and Styx. There are also 5 condemned to terrible punishment in the lower realms of Hades; Danaides, Ixon, Sisyphus, Tantalus, Tityus.
