Actually there are Plants, Animals, Fungus, Monera and Protists, which are pretty much everything that doesn't fit neatly into any of the other 4. Some lable a 6th, Archea, which can effectively be placed with the Monera. As far as the most important, all of the kingdoms are interconnected and rely on one another. No matter which kingdom you eliminate, all of the other kingdoms would face massive extinction, sometimes total extinction, if you eliminated an entire kingdom.

None is more important than the other. Humans like to think they are more important, but they aren't. In fact, the total idea of "important" is a human idea.
