Well , OK. So, we know that he is using 1 kilogram of flour, right? Well, convert 1 kg into grams. Remember, the word 'kilo' means 1000, so Kilogram means 1000 grams - still following along? Now, we know that he divided it into four scoops. Normally, each scoop could hold any amount of flour, as long as all four add up to 1000 grams. However, since it says "equal scoops", that means each one is the same size. So, what do we do in this case? Well, there are four operations. Addition, subtraction, Multiplication, and Division. In this case, we want to make the amount smaller, because the amount of each scoop will have to be less than 100 grams. So, we are either using multiplication or division. Here's the trick. When you are measuring stuff into equal parts, you don't subtract, you divide. So, we will be using division. Now, we know 2 numbers. The first one is 1000, becuase that is the number of grams. The second one is 4, becuase that is how many scoops there are. Now, divide. Since you can't divide 4/1000 (well, you can, but it's complicated), we are going to divide 1000 by 4/ So, 1000/4 = (using a calculator if necessary) 250. So, since the 1000 was in grams, the 250 will also have to be in grams. So, there's the answer! Each of Antoine's scoops will contain 250 grams of flour! I sure hope that helped you! :)

here is a simple reference for converting:

kilo hecto deca gram(.) deci centi milli

-you just need to move the decimal point to which unit you want to convert it to.

ex. 1

250 gms = .25 kgs (you'll move the decimal point to the left 3 times since u want to go to kilo)
ex. 2
25 gms = 25000 mgs (move to the right 3 times to go to milli, in this case, you have to put 0 since there are no numbers to the right of the decimal point)

hope this helps!
