How can i find the average speed of my walk?

I want to use 1 meter long piece of string and a stopwatch, how can i determine my average speed of my walk?

v = x/t, so measure t and divide 1m by t.
This would be really difficult to do with any accuracy, so I'd suggest you mark off 10 m or more and measure the time to walk that.
