The leading candidate for each party, Giuliani for the Republicans and Clinton for the Democrats, are thought to be the two least religious candidates in the race.

Does this signify a backlash against the in-your-face religiousity of candidates in the last two decades, or is it just a coincidence?

Purely coincidental. Their frontrunner status in their respective parties is primarily the result of widespread name recognition and noteriety.

People have this grand view of Rudy Giuliani, but I will guarantee you that he will not be elected President.

He will get crushed by any Democrat in the race.

Some Republicans may be blinded by 9/11, but people are finding out that Giuliani is not all that the media has made him out to be.

i think it does , i believe people are fed up with bush, especially when he says i pray every day for guidance, and apparently GOD told him to bomb the hell out of Iraq even though they had nothing to do with 9/11.Besides georgie you can replenish your coffers with all that oil money.

I don't give a rat's behind what their religions are or whether they even practice their religion.

No. I think it is mostly name recognition.

It's not what they say...it's what they do, how they live their lives.
