I use the scrubbing side of a sponge and Dawn dish liquid. Be sure to "season "your pans once they are dry. By this I mean take a paper towel with some cooking oil and lightly coat the inside of the pan/Skillet. Hope this helps.:)

One thing bad about the non-stick pans is after a while they get the coating around the sides.I have learned the hard way to take better care of my skillets and pans by not putting them in cold water when they are hot,it makes the teflon bubble and not to leave them in water very long before washing them.If possible just take a damp cloth and wipe them in stead of washing.Never put them in a dish washer. When it isn't possible just to wipe them out ,wash with a gentle dish detergent. After they get the coating on the sides and bottom it's a little late, not much you can do.

It depends on who makes the pan... I received a set of non-stick commerical pans made by CALPHALON which retail for around $200 as a wedding gift 4 yrs. ago.. I take very, very good care of all my cookware I don't use metal utensils and I handwash everything.. .I've sent back the pans twice under warranty which is 10yrs.. While I still have a cheapie set of T-Fal cookware $100 that I've had almost 10 yrs and I have yet to have a problem with them.. In fact I let my now husband use them in his bachelor days and they still work just fine... If you use non-stick cooking spray the "residue" is very hard to remove.. You should heat up the pan and wipe with a damp clean cloth.. Just be careful to NOT burn yourself.. .Try NOT to use PAM or any other cooking spray.. A bit of butter or oil to "season" the pan is all you should use... Also, do not put in dishwasher or use metal utensils... Good luck
