This is the result of the pew poll.

Where is this poll conducted, what kind of sample base.

Are Americans really THAT fixated on religion?

If so, the future looks like the past to me and many others.

They need to at least mention Jesus once in a while. That would cover the base or give press conference on the steps of a church. This is a country of hypocrisy.

Not to BE strongly religious, but to APPEAR to be strongly religious... Why? Because that's what a majority of the voting public expects from a leader. What religiosity has to do with true leadership is an open question, and we seem to be the only industrialized country that has a mind-set about it. By the way, Lincoln never joined a church, and the Founding Fathers were, for the most part, Deists. But you knew that.

Boy oh boy, do not believe all you read or hear. Polls can easily be slanted........! :Pollsters can take polls from carefully selected groups.......and of course they can be dishonest. Who can prove them right or wrong?

Just recently in the news I read that most of the Democrats are going to bring up their religious faith, as they think it is the proper thing to do, and to win votes. Good grief. Hillary's Methodist background is extremely socialistic and liberal. Bad news since she wants big government to take control more and more of our lives and freedoms. Billy, her husband, professes a faith in God too, but look at the sexual messes and other questionable things he has done.. Guiliani has been married several times, and openly flaunted some of his liasons, even to wanting to bring a mistress to the home where he lived with his first wife and children. A tree is known by its fruit. If a candidate does not show good fruit then they are hypocrites, plain and simple. I truly wonder just how many folks are that interested in the religion aspect of our candidates - I would like to see a provable and honest poll which would involve folks from every walk of life and every level of education, every ethnic group and so on. It sounds pretty impossible to me.
