I sponsor a child with Plan International.
I was shocked when I first signed up, and the picture of the sponsor child came. Her mother had coloured hair!!!
How needy can her family really be if she is spending money on non essential items, such as hair colour?
It was quite disappointing.
I do wonder if Plan are directing the money to the people who really need it.
I don't know.
It's a difficult question.

I am the sponser of two children through CCF. Oh, and I do support the less fortunate in my own country through a little program called income tax. My income tax dollars (about $25000 a year) pay for infrastructure, education, health care, and other such things. The not quite $800 I pay to CCF is a small price and it does make me feel better. I like to think that the letters of thanks I receive from my children are authentic and that they ARE getting shoes, better food, and beds.

I did until I found out some of those pictures they send are of kids who already died. It was a big scandel back in the day. Those poor kids only get about 3 cents per doller. World Vision pays its employees with the rest.

I don't... A lot of the money given to World Vision to support the children is eaten up by World Vision employees before it even gets to the kids... I would rather help my own country first... Helping out where you live and your own countrymen is the first step to world peace...â¥

Not me. Let's solve our local problems first before we jump into helping the rest of the world.
