Well yes !
If you have Att&t or any company that uses a phone with a SIM card you can purchase a unlocked phone off ebay or from the company and just put the sim card from your current phone into the new one.
If you are using Verizon you can call them and purchase a new phone ...It will be at full price though. You could also buy a Verizon compabatible phone off ebay and then have Verizon switch your service to that phone ( small charge)

You can buy a phone from Craigslist or eBay & use it with the plan you already have. You can sometimes upgrade through your cell phone company but they'll extend your contract. Be sure to buy a phone meant to be used with the provider you have or get one that is unlocked so that it will work with your provider.
