If you're just starting in music, I'd say clarinet, trumpet or snare drum, depending on your personal preference. The rationale is that these will give you a good base of fundamentals for other instruments in the category. Example: Clarinet can lead to flute, saxaphones (at least 4 kinds) bass clarinet, piccalo, oboe, basoon and any other woodwind. Trumpet: tuba, trombone, French horn, coronet, bass horn,
and other brass. Snare drum: all percussion instruments. If you're talking about a rock/jazz/blues band, then it's guitar all the way baby! peace

When I was in 6th grade, I tried out on all four that were available the first semester: trumpet, trombone, clarinet, and flute. In the end, the teacher decided that I'd be best at trumpet.
Try all the instruments to see which one you're best at.
As for recommending instruments..
flute, clarinet, and trumpet, i guess

a good band director would take time for everyone to play everything for a few minutes, and let them decide what they think is best for them and advise them... this is how i started a class when i taught elementary music..... i personally play the flute, alto flute, tenor flute, bass flute, picollo, clarinet, sax, french horn, guitar and bass guitar... and a little percussion.... they are supposed to test you on your embrasure.... the position of your lips when blowing into an instrument.... and they can lead you to a family of instruments that would be best for you, but if you have your heart set on a specific instrument, dont let anyone tell you you cant play it..... go with what you think is best, and give it your all!!! email me if youd like more information and good luck sweetie!!!

Take up the triangle, and then join the marching band. Be serious about it. Then during the first halftime show you play in, Pull out your best Ed Grimley imitation out of the closet.
In case you don't know who that is, check out Martin Short's Saturday Night Live sketches from the mid 80's.

I'd say
1st - electric guitar is probably the greatest for me i luv it cuz it shows so much talent
2nd - bass guitar is pretty awesome and my second choice
3rd - i'd say drums cuz the're just load and usually all bands need drums in the back depending on what kind on band

The cello is my all time favorite instrument - it's sound is so beautiful and sexy.
The flute is also nice.
I adore the sound of the french horn too.

I can play the piano, guitar and saxophone(not at the same time)
The piano builds up the strength in your fingers
The guitar teaches you melody and rhythm
The saxophone lets your "soul" come out and dance!
Self-Expression is another word for what it does, especially for me!
Thank you,
