i got an estimate to have 2 gas lines replaced from front to back and a muffler (which i already purchased) put on...they said after tax and everything it would be about 320usd...does this seem about right? or high? i only ask because the guy initially told me it would be 150usd for both lines, which means hes charging 150usd for my muffler???

normally i would have my fiance handle this, but hes deployed...thanks alot!

ps---its a 96 honda civic ;-P

$150 to install a muffler is way too high. It's only a 30 minute job for a good shop.

At a normal garage in my area that would cost about $120 to have two fuel lines put on unless things were really tricky on your civic. They may have been rusted, and when they took off the old, the fittings broke off. Other than that for the whole job it should have been about $150. Many times it is about where you live at too.

take someone with you that knows about cars and talk to the mechanic again!
if hes charging 150 for the muffler, might as well get a performance muffler!

fuel lines front to rear is a lot of work, I don't think it's out of line. they will all need to be fabricated and that takes a lot of time.
