They are Caucasians that call themselves Greek. There is practically no other ethnicity in Greece so they don't have to go by color. Chinese are Oriental and Chinese, not yellow for example.

Our skin color is 'Olive' for the most part but Greece has become more diverse over they years especially with there being as almost many Greeks abroad as there are currently living in Greece. We do NOT disciminate against skin tone. We consider all Greeks to be Greek whether they are olive, white, black, grey, blue.red or purple...etc...

Although like most Europeans they are for the most part considered caucasian... However, WE don't lable ourselves!

As with Spain and Italy, Greece at one time was mostly if not entirely Caucasian. Then the mud bloods arrived. Hence the dark Greeks, Brown Spanish, and the greasy Dagos...... I myself am a blond Nordic god...... Ok, a blond dumpy dude from UK'er ancestory..... OK, a grey haired, fat desk jockey..... Better quite while I'm ahead...

actually a very good question. There are only 3 races of man: Negroid, Caucasoid and Asiatique. Notice there is no white race. Greeks would fall under Caucasoid, or Caucasian. Sure they are a different origin and ethnic group, as are Russian, Italian etc.

Might be a good Idea to ask a South African, they were very persnickety about that kind of thing.

They are certainly Caucasian, as others have said, it shouldn't matter. However we all know how the prejudiced morons are of this world.

I am part greek, and my grandparents are completely greek. Yes they are considered white, but they prefer to call themselves greek, not white. or "golden" ha.

Does it really matter??? Why do we have to categorise people? Are Italians white? Some French are as dark skinned as Italians and some Italians are as dark skinned as some Greek people. Some Greek people are as dark as Iraqi people and on and on and on it goes. We are all the same under the skin
