If it is public school it is definitely an issue. The separation of church and states protects people from being harassed in this manner. Since all schools are government funded, this also applies to teachers. I would recommend speaking with your classmates about lodging a formal complaint with your principal. If the whole class tells him what happened it will be more believable. If you are scared to do this, record it with an Ipod, cell phone, something, and submit it to your principal anonymously.

Not so much as illegal since there is this thing called FREEDOM OF SPEECH, but if the class is not a Religious class I think it's unethical and someone should say something to this teacher. She can bring her bible and her cross or whatever but can't preach to children if the class has nothing to relate to it.

Hell, yeah! It's illegal for them to even MENTION religious teachings, unless they're a valid part of a lesson -- and sometimes not even then. But to preach at you about baptism and going to hell is illegal in many ways. Talk to your parents and the school principal about it.

In a public school, I would say illegal. There is a separation of church and state. Not to mention, it is extremely intolerant to say the least.
For anyone out there who wants to get their panties in a bunch over anyone thinking like I do, just replace "Jesus" or "God" or "Christian" with things like: "Allah" "Islam" "Wicca" "Satan" "Satanist" "insert favorite hated or misunderstood religion here" and see how you would feel in that case.
The teacher should be reported.

Yes. If you want a shocking reaction from the public, get someone to record his/her antics on a cell phone camera, then post it on YouTube and Break. Email everyone you know, and ask them to look at it. Be sure to send one to the ACLU. It will cause a stir....

Yes, it is. If someone is doing that, you should have your parents contact the school board and/or the principal. He should not be preaching on the taxpayer's dollar.
