1/cos^2 x = 1 + tan^2 x

cos^2 x = 1/513

cos x= 0.044

x = 87.469

you mean tan x = 5/12? sketch right triangle in Q3, vertical side -5, horizontal side -12. hypotenuse will be 13, and cos x = -12/13.
