My experience- was the PITS!!! I had to walk the LENGTH of the Airport- to get to my Gate; wait 2 & a half hours to get through Security; carry my OWN (admittedly overloaded) 3 bags to the Plane; FIGHT with some guy to get OUT of my seat; - & then LOOK out the window to see the Pilot & 2 crewmembers- STUGGLING to put the wings on the Plane! I'm telling you- NEVER again!!! :)

I don't know if you'd consider Southwest a cheap airline, but I had the flight from hell earlier this year.

The boyfriend and I took a vacation to LA. We're in the waiting area at LAX for our flight back home (well, to BWI to the shuttle bus to the Metro to home), and a child is screaming at the top of her lungs, throwing the tantrum to end tantrums. My boyfriend suggests that we not sit near these people. So what do I do when it's our turn to board? I find the first row with two seats together, toss my bag into the overhead bin and see Screamy Troglodyte, her baby brother, and her father right behind the row I've chosen. I don't want to hold up boarding--and I *have* to have a seat near the front to avoid airsickness--so I snarl and hope to bear it.

I will make a long story short. The child screamed pretty much the whole time we were on the ground during boarding and during much of the flight. Then her idiot father changed the baby's diaper in the seats because he couldn't wait two minutes for the lavvy to clear so he could bring his younger child there. My boyfriend went to the back to complain to the flight attendants, and they couldn't do anything. Another flight attendant just sprayed some sanitary crap. Shortly afterward, one of the little brats puked.

I may never fly Southwest again.

The worst experince was flying to from cyprus in 05, the plane was rattling all the way there, the tvs werent working properly when the safety video was meant to have been shown, the aisles were very narrow, 4 of us were squashed into 3 seats, (2 adults, 2 toddlers) the air hostess's kept bashing my arm when they went past.and yep this has actually put me off flying again.,

The worst experience was going on an airline called aerocalifornia. The propellers sounded like a messed up dryer/washer. I seriously thought I was going to die. I'd never fly on a cheap airline after that.

All these are nothing compared to the experiences of the passengers on the planes which crashed on 9/11

I was going on vacation and I missed my cruise! They delayed boarding for 3 hours, and they also did not take off for another 3 hours. So I was six hours late, just in time to watch my cruise take off. I had to fly to the next island, which was two days later. I even missed the lobster buffet. I found out that the airline did it on purpose because they were about to go on strike.

Sitting on a runway in Philadelphia for eight hours. Eight very long, boring hours with no drinks or food. The airport didn't have steps to attach to the plane to get us off or to put refreshments on.

OMG Hilarious one!

I was flying to Brno in the Czech Republic, you know when the plane takes off and lands you need to remain seated until it reaches a standstill/ the correct altitude?

When we landed people started to stand up and get their bags together, the stewardess did not ask people to sit down she shouted "WILL YOU ALL JUST SIT DOWN UNTIL WE HAVE STOPPED MOVING!!"

I was scared to breathe!

Being herded around and being treated like cattle in a chute.
Not to mention the surly, arrogant attitudes of the crew.
