someone told me to invest my money in a money market acount but i don't know what it is

A bank account with a variable interest rate.
Somewhat like a savings account but for larger deposits.
The person might have meant a money market fund, which is from a mutual fund company (as opposed to a bank) and usually pays a higher rate.
