That is a good question, and I really don't have an answer. I could kind of see it either way.

Laws against child pornography are mainly in place to protect the children who are usually forced to participate, not necessarily to punish those who happen to like child pornography. If it is animated, there is no harm to a child, thus no need to protect them.

On the other hand, child pornography is, in most people's minds, so reprehensible that it should not be allowed. Even animated sex would be disgusting and reprehensible to most of the public. If it is indistinguishable, how can the law protect children without banning animated pornography.

This is probably an issue that will be worked out in the court system as technology becomes more advanced.

Yes it is in most places and all over the US. Any image that depicts a child (minor) in any sort of sexual act is considered illegal. It is best to just stay away from that all together I would imagine. Still just because it is illegal it doesn't mean that there are not people out there willing to break the law. So you might be able to find this sort of thing out ther but it would still be illegal. Individual states may have slight variations or additions but in general yes it would be illegal anyway. Odd question btw.

I believe the supreme court has ruled that simulated child porn is illegal. It is true that computer graphics have advanced to the point where if becomes difficult to tell what is real and what is CGI.

The routine before was to alter photographs to make them appear as they wanted when in reality there was nothing their (paste and image into another for example). This is simutaled. I would believe this would come down the same way.

Unfortunately with the pedophiles out there yes it might. It is illegal in the US and can be delt with if the website is based in the US. Don't know what the laws are in other countries or how they enforce their laws, that is up to them. They are still sick people to do it reguardless.

Contributing to the delinquency of a minor is a fairly broad law, so yes it is illegal.

Wow this is a creepy question but no it is not. Storys or Animation arent illegal because they dont actually damage an actual living child.
