Mirrorcoin and Taiping have given you alot of good information. If you are looking for an actual value the last time I priced mercury dimes in a coin shop they were paying about 80 cents for one. This price varies depending on the price of silver.

Your best bet would be to take your coin to a local coin dealer. They will be able to tell you more by evaluating the condition of the coin. They will also know the amount minted and what it is going for in today's market.

You can also post pictures on this website (there are many coin experts here that can help you evaluate it - there also may be people willing to buy if you are trying to sell):

Mirrorcoin has it right. You have a coin that has more value as a historic coin than a monetary one. It was the year the U.S. entered World War II so if your coin could talk it may have a very interesting story to tell. It was minted the year the Japanese wanted to take our freedoms away and a lot of good Americans died at Pearl Harbor on Dec. 7 1941.The only place for the value to go is up, so he told it like it is.
