My house is swarmed by fruit flies!?

My roommates were putting food in the garbage and ever since there have been fruit flies all over the place. Ive cleaned everything and even used bleach in the can and the surrounding area. Anybody have any ideas to get rid of them once and for all?

A much simpler version that works every time.Take a plastic cup or saucer and fill it with Brown Apple Cider Vinegar (Available at any food store) 1/2" deep. Put the container or cup and place it in the room or room(s) that have the most Fruit Flies. The FF's are attracted to the apple smell of the Vinegar.They simply fall in and drown.You need not cover it with saran wrap or anything else for that matter. Covering it will only make it harder to trap more Fruit Fly's. If you have already removed the source of the rotten fruit or garbage, this will work even better and faster. I have caught several hundred Fruit Flies in a 24 hour period this way. It's chaep, easy to do and you can put these open containers in any room of your house..
NOTE* The gestation period for pregnant Fruit Flies, is just 10 days and they lay literally hundreds of eggs that grow into ADULT Fruit Flies VERY quickly...This is a sure thing that works I can personally assure you. NO MESS,NO ODORS,NO CHEMICALS...

A trick I learned online somewhere, was to take a small cup or glass and fill it half full with a cider vinager. put some suran wrap on the top and then take a rubber band and put on the glass so that the wrap stays on good. then poke a few toothpick size holes in the top of the wrap. gnats, fruit flies and so forth love the smell and will get trapped inside. put it out at night before you go to bed and it should be gone the next day.

Because there's more than just one fruit in the house now, and much fruit draws the flies !

Those little clowns.

Get a spray bottle filled with some water and some rubbing acholol and spray them in the air. Open your blinds and they will fly to the glass. Take toilet tissue with acholol on it and hit them.

They like to go down into your drains Pour hot water and soap down the drain. Think they breed down in those drains.

You'll have to keep after them. My Wife and I can testify to that!!!
