It takes more than just a new place to make someone happy.

... are you normally a happy person? If you're depressed - just changing locations doesn't change your mood... depression is baggage that you carry with you.

Harry Chapin (a now deceased musician) once wrote in a song, "...You can travel on- 10,000 miles & still stay where you are..." Sounds like you need to spend some QUALITY time with YOURSELF- & find out the source of your unhappiness. Sit down & ask yourself what's "missing", what it is you're "longing for" in your life- & see what you come up with. At the very LEAST- maybe you'll find some "direction" towards which you can "travel" to discover where your heart's desire lies... Randomly "casting about" isn't going to "cut it". Life is a Journey- NOT a Destination. You have to know where you're going- to get there. Good luck! :)

Nothing's wrong with you. Those are all expensive, busy, hectic places. Maybe big cities simply aren't the idea vacation for you. Try places that are more relaxing. Try leaving the US, too. There are so many deals on discountfares.com I saw to Europe...

Hello! Have you ever tried drawing? When I feel glum I find nothing turns that frown upside down quite like a session with the ol' pencil and paper!
