Today is the day Mexican trucks start rolling into our country this will not stand. We have to mount a campaign against it by emailing our congress just as we did with the immigration bill

So you are opposed to the trucks from Mexico but not the HUGE container ships from many other countries around the world? Countries like Japan, Korea, China, many of the countries of Europe etc. Is it because you are a racist? Or just worried about some specific (yet unnamed) import from Mexico? We have been importing from Mexico for YEARS. Now it just comes in their trucks.

The international border may be open and the sovereign states continue to have local control. Is the issue safety? Local vehical safety laws still apply. In this country where commerce and profit are king, are jobs and opportunity the issue? The winner stil does the best job at the lowest price.

If american trucks and truckers need to be protected, whos' problem is that?

yeah ok. I have been in the industry for yrs on end and thanks to the end of regulation truckers have lost a voice to the cause everyday. lobby groups have opposed it, owner operators, I personally think alot of the blame goes to the american trucking asscociation because they are in bed with the govt on alot of issues . they dont side with the driver at all, they play both sides. at this point the only thing that may work is a public outcry and hopefully nobody gets hurt from all this.
