Technically you do own the earth all the way down but in this country there are laws about ownership of mineral rights. A more interesting thing is that unless there is some legal document to the contrary if you own a house you also own the land in front up to the middle of the road. Not the surface though There may be rights of way over that land but it actually a technical trespass for someone to park on the road outside your house. All the decided cases relate to people trying to spy on race horses when they are being exercised..

That's a good question. I actually had to take a few minutes to think about it.

I don't believe that you own it down to the core of the earth as the plates, land, underground lava/water, etc. are constantly moving. The only thing that stays stable is the surface of the land (more or less). Just my point of view.

Normally you do, unless, as has been noted, you sell the mineral rights, or some previous owner has sold the mineral rights. This often happens in mining areas. Mineral rights give somebody else the right to mine under your house. It should be noted in the deed if you do not own the mineral rights.

Also, if there is ground water under your house, you have a right to drill a well, but there will be local or state laws governing how much water you can suck up. Water travels through the ground from other people's property to yours and has to be apportioned by the government.

If you dig up any ancient artifacts in your yard, such as old bones, or other relics, or money, there are probably local or state laws limiting your ownership rights.

Not necessarily. Mineral, mining, and water rights can be and often are sold to people other than the land owners. If you are buying property and want to own everything underneath you have to make sure that no previous owner has sold any of these. You also have to make sure there are no easements (rights to traverse the land) required by the local or state government.

Yes..Example..underground & basement levels in the buildings..
But, if you happen to find any some stuff's (Like an ancient Treasure, Historical relics..etc) under the land...depending upon the kind- of stuff and law of the land it belongs to Govt..

If you look closely at your deed, you'll see that someone else retains the rights to the minerals under your house. So don't even bother panning for gold in the back yard.

You may have a piece of paper saying you own the land, but that is all it is. Any government can take your land.
