my friend makes $17000 a month and she is livin large...any ideas on the lifestyle you can get with $50000 a month?

That's a relative contention. The process by which one "brings in" X amount of money each month may carry an opportunity cost that may make the X amount not worth it. That is to say, you can make 70K a year working at a factory, working 12 hour days and overtime, or you can earn that same amount in a 40 hour week job. They're both earning the same but QOL is drastically different. So it's not just the level of consumption that the job enables you to attain, but also the amount of time you actually get off the job to allow for that consumption. So it depends, your friend making 17K a month might have a better QOL than the person making 50K a month.

Of course this is academic, 17K a month is 204K a year, this person is flithy rich, of course she's living large.

Do you mean a month or per year? If it's per month, what type of field is your friend in because they are living large. If you make $50K per month (which is almost 3 times more) you can live large too if you spend and invest your money right.
