You must be a jealous tw@. Jealous because you root for a team owned by poverty crying billionaires, who would rather spend their money on private jets, then on a winning baseball team. Well you get what you pay for.The Yankees had an injury plagued pitching staff for the first half of the season (which you conveniently forgot) Now that their pitching staff is back online, their the hottest team in baseball. You know this, which is why all these Yankees suck posts are coming in fast and furious. You have to get them all out now before we house you in the post season. So continue to follow your Wal-mart team to Hell. As for me, I'd rather pay $200 on a pair of shoes that cost $170 to make (i.e. The Yankees), then $170 on a pair of shoes that cost $20 to make (i.e. Your broke @ss team).

It isn't great, unless you happen to be jealous of the Yankees because they are THE franchise in sports and even Yankee haters know this.
I think it's funny how Yankee haters keep beating the dead horse, payroll, considering the Yankees have a lot of homegrown players on the roster this year, and other than Clemens, really haven't spent a ton of money in over a year. I'd like to do research on Yankee haters, and I'd bet I'd find a genetic predisposition to stupidity, as they find stupid things to whine about, such as payroll. I have yet to hear an argument from them that actually makes sense. And "Yankees suuccck" is a sign of someone with an underdeveloped brain who is incapable of rational thought.
Also, for those of you who criticize the Yankees' spending, they payroll will decrease rapidly over the next two years. And even if they do spend lot, who cares? It's their money, not yours. Also, they paid over $100 MILLION in revenue sharing and luxury taxes last year, which went to OTHER teams. I bet YOUR team doesn't put that much money into the game.

Because of all the money George spent to keep the
Yankees on top. I'm not really a Yankees hater, but i
do believe the Yankees go overboard when trying to
win the world series.
With the Yankees spending SO much on players, it
really hurts the smaller market teams. These teams
can't spend that type of money for good talent, and
thus have trouble competing. When a real good small
market player becomes a free agent, who is usually
there giving them a ton of money to sign with them?

It quells the bluster and bloviation of Yankees fen for a brief while, a day at the most, and all the rest of us dearly appreciate the respite.
It's not the thing itself that is so annoying, it's the sort of people it attracts.

Okay man I'm not a Yankees fan either but to say they suck is kinda wrong...they are like the number one team in the MLB so far, and this year yeah they haven't been on there game but they could still get the wild card pretty easily ( I Hope they don't because i live in WA. so I'm a Mariners fan). And yeah they are kinda over paid but what do you expect it is New York City, The Yankees Organization makes alot, and what do you expect, do you think there not gonna spend there money to improve there team???????????????

Because Steinbrenner has BOUGHT championships. He has ruined baseball by throwing all that money at players. I mean, come on, Clemens is 45 ! Only reason Roger agreed, hey, for $8 million dollars for half a season, I would .
