so my school has a dress code thing where you HAVE to tuck in your shirt, and of course everybody hates it. anyways, after school ended, i was leaving school (i was still on campus) and this lady like, litterally yells at like 10 guys for not having their shirts tucked in, and sends them to detention right there, just like that. and its only the 3rd day of school! why do some teachers have to be so pissed off at the world and so strict?

The rules are in place to create an orderly learning environment, and people need to be punished when they are broken. If school was over when the teacher punished them, then I think what she did was unfair and unjust. If it is after school hours, then rules should not matter.

Teachers are trying to teach more than just academic material, they are trying to teach behaviour that will be acceptable in the working world. Dress codes are quite common in higher pay scale jobs.
If you can't do something simple like leave your shirt tucked in on campus, then as in life, there will be consequences.
Discipline is a very important part of being an adult. Wait and see what happens if you dis a Marine drill Sergeant the same way.

An easy question to answer. How do you recognise a fully awakened, spiritually committed monk in a fast moving world in which the lay lifestyle of casual dress and immediate logical practicalities seems to have become the most skillful way? These questions are not the same!
Those who emerge from youth and early beginnings into the adult's world of roles and responsibilities soon begin to find as they get older - 20, ...30 ...40 ... 50........ that there are too many things in the world to remember - that's when they begin to wish they had more self-discipline, that someone had taught them to be just a bit more strict - the tunes they learnt 15 years ago they no longer remember, their bank manager wants an easy way of telling which guys can be trusted to be careful with money... etc.
Oh, well no person in the street and not on a computer is telling you to be strict - it's just that older people sometimes wish that medically trained staff were more careful - like what happens when your doctor can say nothing to you because the tests went missing ...? These questions discussed more fully in my writings at: www.ecomarshosgame.com
Well, maybe your teacher just had tooth pain, dental problems... that sort of thing can make a person real strict.

You get detention for touching a BOOK in a LIBRARY? That surely goes against the point of a library. By the way, good to see a young person who knows how to spell 'library', you'll go a long way.

I'm a teacher (in first grade) and they have to wear uniforms. If the kids don't follow the dress code and the teacher does not say anything, the principal comes down hard on the teacher. IT SUCKS...ever worry about losing your job or being cussed out by "the boss?"

If they cut some slack today, that becomes the new limit for tomorrow, and someone will press against that limit. Rules is rules. Just stay inside the line, please. Gain the respect that will make others trust you enough to grant exceptions when they are really necessary.

You mean "teachers" (plural), not "teacher's" (possessive). Sounds like you have a lot to learn and guess whose job it is to teach you?
