Since headhunter is also a slang term for recruiters of professionals for the biz or medical fields, I would have to say they sell them to the highest bidder.

The same thing that animal hunters do ---kill the animal and then mount the head as a trophy on the mantle piece of their home ---eat the meat of the animal and then boast to people how many heads they collected and relate stories of how each head was collected and the bloody struggle it was .

Shrink Them and hang them up all over their huts. I might be wrong but I think the head hunter with the most is very important head man.(no joke intended)

They keep them around... I've never been to visit them, but classic images show the heads stuck on spears, and some of the heads will get shrunken down so they can wear them on necklaces... and some ancient Chinese headhunters took them home and gave them to their bosses in return for being freed from slavery! Incredible...

Check their brains whether it worth in the markets as required by his or her employers and got the price money for job well done. Ladies are specially classified under their lists.

They used to shrink and dry them and wear them as jewelry around their necks. Many museums around the world have examples of them. I no doubt, you could even buy them on e-bay....gruesome....
