That is a good point. Just goes to show they only care about their own skin.

If our government, including the white house, decided to protect America and actually build the border fence it would be a great waste of money and time. A fence is solely symbolic. If they had any interest in protecting America we would bring our troops home from Iraq and that them patrol the borders. They would have I.C.E. actually enforce current laws and hold businesses that knowing hire illegals accountable. As the expense to physically deport every illegal is unimaginable they would come up with a legitimate plan to insure those here assimilate into our society and become productive citizens. Any thought that a fence is going to "protect America" is idiotic a fence won't even keep my neighbors dog out of the trash how will a fence "protect America".

Because the fences in Washington are only a few hundred yards. Fences at our borders would be several thousand miles long, and cost a few hundred thousand dollars up to a million dollars a mile to be any use! do you have any idea how much money that is????
Foreigners wouldn't want to come in if we could make their own countries better places to live. The amount of money spent on putting up a fence that wouldn't work too well, would employ 10 or 20 times as many of Mexicans in Mexico and keep them out of our hair. Use your head.

The presidents job is to present himself well on behalf of the white house, not his country and he knows, good fences make good neighbors but he doesn't care about his country so whats he care about a fence for it?
On second thought, I think there is a fence around the white house because the Mexican president told him he could have one.

I believe in the old saying "Fences make good neighbors".

We should build a secure, infiltration-proof fence as part of a comprehensive program to keep illegal aliens out of this country.

Despite what Liberals might say, lie about, or intentionally miscommunicate, every country in the world, including -- gasp -- the United States has the undeniable and inviolate right to control and defend its own borders.

Because fences are expensive and don't work. There has to be a better and less expensive way. We can create an atomic explosion we should be able to figure out a way to protect our borders without building big stupid fences.

It's done wonders for China!

Because we have politicians who are only interested in getting re-elected so they can keep sucking off the teat of America. We do not even know who alot of people walking on the streets today are.
If. God forbid, we have another terrorist attack, all politicians in Washington should be re-called for not protecting this country.

Well, for one thing, the white house fence is a few hundred yards. There is no fence around Congress. And the Mexican border alone is probably 3000 miles, with mountains, deserts, and rivers.

There are fences on the border. It is just hard to get the manpower to watch every inch of it. That's why people come over here illegally, because no one is watching.
