If this is for a family reunion being held during Thanksgiving, then there is nothing better than a standing prime rib roast. Cooked with the bone in and then trimmed of the bone for serving. The bones make a great treat for any dogs around too!!!
If it is just a reunion, then I'd go with smoked ribs and chicken....YUMMY!!!

This is a crowd pleaser....it's a spicy chicken dish from the country of CHILE'.....you take whole chicken cut up and put it in an oven/cake like pan...cut potatoes add sliced mushrooms (fresh) and one large onion sliced....some cilantro leaves if you want...then add a cup of water then garlic salt/parsley pepper and a half bottle of any hot sauce (when cooking with hot sauce it will not be hot just spicy) sprinkled it everywhere. Then place it in the oven at 475' for an hour or so (cover with tin foil) In about 20 minutes your neighbors will come running! Make a pot of white jasmine rice on top of the stove. When making a plate center the rice and add ingredients over top. Serve. This will be your best chicken dish ever.....the complements will not stop and don't tell them your secret...

Some form of pasta. If anyone is a vegetarian, then they won't have any problems. You could also try having something low-fat like an appetizer or something. Most people nowadays are on diets, so we must remember them at the reunions too.

Depends on the time of year.
I'm from a very, very large family, and I can tell you that you can cook foods that MOST people will like. If you try to please everyone, you'll kill yourself and you probably still won't please every person.
Soups are great. You can cook anything from a spicy chili to a mild, creamy broccoli soup.
Potatoes are great because you can have a "potato bar" where you feature all sorts of toppings for the potatoes....including chili.
Chicken....baked, grilled, fried, etc.
Salads....too many to mention
Best of everything!

A great dessert is always easy. It is the last part of the meal so they wont forget you made it.
Creme caramel, moist banana cake with cream cheese frosting cut into squares, butter tarts, peach cobblers, apple pies, and cookies.
If you have no time to make anything, find a one of a kind ice cream place in your town that may make custom made ice cream desserts.

That depends on them. Maybe you should recall a family gathering that was always sucessful and be a copycat. It's a lot of work so stick with stuff you know you can cook.

BBQ of any kind is always a crowd pleaser. Just go to Costco or whatever you have where you live and buy hot dogs and burgers, chicken and buns and you are good to go. Throw in some booze and you have a good time on your hands!!
