I think heroes exist! One of my mum's friends save me from drowning when I was little so he is my hero!Sometimes not only people can be heroes but animals too! There were cases when an dog saved his family from an armed guy or discovered gas leaks in the house that could have killed anyone that lived there!

Yes, imo, there are heroes in our society. For example, the firemen who risk their lives to save a person's life from a burning building. Or how about the police officer who saves the life of someone he doesn't know from the hands of a drug user who was trying to rob the person, yet due to the police officer, the victim was spared any harm.
There are many heroes in our society, and if you take a little time out to research that, you too will see there are countless heroes in our society, perhaps you're a hero.....one never knows where they'll find such a person.
Good luck with your paper.

There are. Believe me, there are.
Go down to your local legion and have a beer with a few of the folks. Or go to your local hospital and ask to see the veterans ward. You'll meet some real heroes.
If that's not what you're looking for, every town has a fire department right? A police department? Paramedics?
However, heroes don't always have medals on their chests.
Talk to the teacher who comes in at 6AM and doesn't leave until well after the kids do.
Talk to the bartender who kept chatting it up with someone who wanted their (literally) last drink before killing himself.
Talk to the homeless guy who chased down and grabbed the bank robber.
Heroes do exist my friend. They are literally everywhere.

Oh Shelby..of course there are heroes in this world. Look at anyone who wears a badge or walks into a burning building...or who spends their days and most of their nights trying to figure out how to reach the kids in their class. This world is full of heroes, they are all around you..you just need to open your eyes. How about your parents, your friends..have they ever done anything to help you? Doesn't that make them heroes..even if it's just to you. Think about it.

I believe in the course of every life the deeds of a hero come into play...My heroes have been family members, friends and even strangers....Each having performed a task without being asked that saved my sorry butt from something.

Yes I believe in heroes. No greater love has a man than to give his life for another. Unfortunately, cemeteries are full of heroes.

YES I DO, I THINK FIRE FIGHTERS & PEOPLE IN THE ARMED FORCES ARE HEROS, COPS NOT AS MUCH CAUSE SOME DO ABUSE THEY'RE POWER
FIRE FIGHTER: THERE'S NO WAY AROUND IT, YOU WILL RUN INTO A BURNING BUILDING TO SAVE SOME1 WHO MIGHT EVEN BE AN @SSHOLE, & THERE'S AGOOD CHANCE OF DYING FOR IT
MARINES: FIRST 1 IN LAST 1 OUT, THERE'S ONLY ONE REASON YOU'RE GOIN OVER THERE & THAT IS TO FIGHT & POSSIBLY DIE!
AIR FORCE: WELL IF SOMETHING GOES WRONG IN THE PLANE THERE'S ONLY 1 WAY TO GO & THATS DOWN!
NAVY: JUST LOOK AT WHAT HAPPENED TO THE SAILORS ON THE INDIANAPOLIS
ARMY: SOUNDS MESSED UP BUT YOU'RE CANNON FODDER
THESE BRANCHES ARE FIGHTING FOR SOMETHING THEY BELIEVE IN, THEY'RE DYING FOR IT! THOSE ARE HEROS
COAST GUARD: BOTH SIDES OF THE FENCE, THEY SAVE LIVES, THEY JUMP INTO WATERS YOU WOULDN'T WANT TO SEE IN A MOVIE TO SAVE SOME1 THEY NEVER MET & THEY RISK THEY'RE LIVES FIGHTING WITH PEOPLE THAT ARE SUPPLYING A DEMAND FOR MOOD ALTERING SUBSTANCES,
THESE ARE HEROS

I really think it depends on your definition of what a hero is. I personally don't really believe in heros mainly because I haven't yet experience one and don't really understand the full effect of how life changing one can be to another.
Sounds like a fun paper.
