Honestly, being a labeled as 'genius' bears too many stipulations... as if to say that being smart requires you to have ALL the answers. That being said, there is the idea that "There is nothing new under the sun," which means that ideas get circulated and recirculated throughout time...

So my dear friend, if everything invented is just a reinvention of sorts, it is neither perfect (without flaw) or original (without historical context)...

Sounds a bit like philosphical b.s. but here's the thing, we all have a little bit of genius in all of us (hehehe). Anyway, seeing beyond the obvious to the potenital underneath is cool stuff. And if dreaming is possible for all of us, then so is orginality...

Phew, Hope this helps!

While it is difficult to define genius, it is my opinion that the true mark of genius is adaptability. Originality for its own sake is of no consequence. The definition of genius is a greatly debated topic, and due to the fact that there has been no scientific advancement on this subject, any claims are mere speculation.

This reads like a statement to me. Sometimes it seems like all the philosophers here aren't into asking questions, just making points known to others. Is this a question?

If so, I think of course that the mark of genius is originality, because nobody is perfect.
