I usually put 4 but it depends on the quality of the answer. If the answer was very short and wasn't helpful to me I will either put 1 or 2. If the answer was OK I will give them 3 stars. If the answer helped a lot I will give them 4 stars. If the answer was perfect and exactly what I wanted, I will give them 5 stars.

I really depends on the depth of the answer (not the length!) - I'm not a big fan of long, drawn out answers. But I will give 5 stars for sure if the answer was really enlightening to me and well thought-out. I usually give 4 or 5 stars.

4 or 5 stars. It's the best answer, so it should have more than 1, 2, or 3 (imo) but sometimes it's not worth the whole 5.
