Say a woman has her period on the first of August, when it was suppose to be the 5th. Then on the 27th her period shows up again. Why did it get earlier? And if she doesn't get her period in September, is that normal or should she worry?

Sometimes stress, illness & medication which can effect hormones can throw a woman's cycle off...all quite normal.
It wouldn't hurt to make an apt. with a doc. & get checked-out.

Yeah, stress can definitely do that. I've gone through some times where my period was totally out of wack (two coming close together and then not for a while, painful cramps etc.) due to all the stress I was under. So if you're dealing with a lot right now, that could be it. It certainly can't hurt to make an appointment with your doctor, particularly since it might reassure you that you're fine, but I wouldn't worry too much about it. The couple times this has happened to me, it righted itself when things started to lighten up a bit. People talk about women's bodies like they're as regular as clockwork but that's not really true. We're complex beings with complex lives and occasionally something gets a little off but that doesn't mean it's any reason to worry. :-)
