Married over 20 years. All of a sudden my wife says she enrolled in dance lessons. We never go out dancing. She is doing this on her own. Never asked me. What am I to make of this?

Well, Bubba, it's time to take some lessons. If I was you I'd have enrolled yesterday.

For all the reasons listed above.

Time to get off your duff...or you'll still be sitting there alone a decade from now.

Did it occur to say, " Honey, I didn't know you wanted to dance so much, why don't I sign up and we can go together?".

Some good friends who we met at coed volleyball 25 years ago have graduated to dancing. They have a nice group of married couples who go out to different clubs for dancing.
Perhaps that "we never go dancing" thing is the problem here.
Try it you might like it.

Dance makes you flexible, dance makes you feel good about your body and is a good way to learn about your body. If she is taking dance lessons, perhaps she is trying to learn a thing or two so that she can show you some "new moves" ya know what I mean? lol Ur wife might be trying to bring her sexy back! Talk to her, tell her its strange that she is all of a sudden wanting dance classes, and interesting too. Dont jump to conclusions, and try to hear her out. Show interest and she will start talking.

I think it's fine and I would take dance lessons too!!!! She's learning something new. I want to learn to play golf but my hubby doesn't care about the game sooo one of these years I will do the same, and sign up for golf lessons on a whim!!

I think it's a bit strange that she never asked you, but maybe you are known for your strong dislike of dancing, and she wants to try something new.

I know my husband would never take dancing lessons with me, I don't even need to ask. When I want to go dancing, I have to make my own plans.

Watch " Shall We Dance" starring Jennifer Lopez & Richard Gere (2004) That might help a little.

She enjoys dancing and wants it as a hobby. And it's a great way to stay in shape. Don't worry about it. Your wife is probably bored with her wife and wants something new. If it bothers you so much why don't you join her. I'm sure it'll spice up your life as well!

Nothing, may have asked...you didn't take her seriously. Nothing wrong with learning something new without your spouse. Be glad that she's willing to progress and learn in life rather than fall into a deep depression because she never does anything she wants to do.
