I asked a similar question when I first started Yahoo Answers. (See link for question and answers). I had noticed that questions relating to Wicca where in the Mythology section, and I wondered why we couldn't take our rightful place in the Religion and Spirituality section. Over time I have noticed that people post questions about Wicca under both categories (Mythology and R&S).

You're absolutely right. Wicca is a religion. Questions about Wicca should be in the Religion section. However, most of the questions about "Wicca" in the mythology section are actually about the old witchcraft practices, which are much older and different from Wicca, though they are usually falsely considered the same.
I'm Wiccan, but I don't get offended because I know that it's an easy mistake to make, so I don;t worry about it.

There is no "Wiccan" category so I can't begin to guess what you are acusing Yahoo of. If you don't want to talk to the Wiccans in Mythology, talk to them in Religion & Spirituality... and take responsibility for your choice.
Incidentally, a myth is a religious story. ANY religious story. It doesn't imply truth or falsity. So, no, I don't mind be associated with mythology.

Look again. There's tons of questions/arguments/slanging matches about Wicca over on R&S.
Wicca may be a religion but it has it's own mythology.

you are only under Mythology because this is where you posted the question.
cruise over to Religion and spirituality and ask how many Wiccans and Pagans are in that category.
many of us just use M&F because we get more honest answers. and less Christians bashing our beliefs.
besides most Pagan religions are steeped in Mythology and Folklore. so this is a natural place for us.

Well there seems to be a lot more like minded people here in mythology so wiccan friendly topics wont get as much resistance here as it does in R&S. I too awncer (rarely post) in R&S but im beginning to perfer mythology a little more.

Then why are YOU posting in Mythology & Folklore? Why not post in Religion & Spirituality like so many other pagans do?
Don't look to get offended when you're guilty of the same offense.

We are a religion. Religion is the outward cultural expression of mythology.
The two are like two sides of a coin.
We post here - because this forum TENDS to draw more intelligence and less mindless zealotry.
Zealotry is for those who are easily offended.

You can post Wiccan questions wherever you want. Yahoo does not make it mandatory to post here.
