get a pet scorpion and keep it in my dorm room, and emperor scorpion, in a tank about 5-10 gallon. I've see kids, with hamster, mice, rats and lizards. I have the space, and if need, to hide on short notice I have a trunk in my room, that I can place it in. I've thought about this for a while now, and I think this is the best fit for me.

We're are technically only allowed fish, but seen as to what other have.

from one college kid to another... as long as u can care for them properly and keep em hidden, go for it... the worst they can do is tell u to take them home... and what if u don't go home till thanksgiving, or christmas... and then u bring em back.... lol... okay, so my roomate has hermit crabs... I have a 10 gallon fish tank... who cares, just as long as the pet is being taken care of... and they need to go home for long breaks!

First of all, only get an Emperor Scorpion. They are relatively docile, very hardy, and if you accidentally get stung, not very venomous at all. (bee sting)

Here's a care sheet:

10-15 gallon tank should be fine. Sand on the bottom and a shallow water dish. A cave to hide in. Yes, you want a heating pad. Tank should be 95 F. You will need a small plastic home for crickets and you will need to feed your crickets fish food, water them, and dust them with calcium before feeding to scorpion.

Also, get a black light. Emperors glow this funky blue-green under the black light and it is wild!

I kept a tarantula and mice in my room, and the crickets I used to feed the spider. We had rabbits, hamsters, rats, guinea pigs and a baby bird in my block and we weren't allowed anything, they weren't hard to hide - I just used to chuck laundry over the tanks if the warden came round, they're not about to poke through by knickers!!
