Other citizens are more informed about their candidates; their election 'seasons' are much shorter because of this. We, on the other hand, appear to elect people based upon verbal, visual and aural appearance rather then competence, honesty and integrity.

American poltical system is created partly by ideas from the French during the elightment era and Americanize it, and also the legal system from Great Britian adapted to American realities.

America is shifting to the left, and I dont like in some ways because it means the goverment has power over me, and that makes me uphappy. Yet, Republcian party lost its way and needs to clear out the bigots, intolerant Teocons before they can rebuild the centralist base. Republicans should say screw teo-cons, and start to go back to the idea of Goldwater with balance of the libertarian base and relgious base balanced out. GW Bush is incomptent at policy excution, but it does mean he makes poor policy discisions. The tax cut 2001 grew the economy 25% in the last 6 years, but the Iraq hack job hurts, as does teocons intolerance for gays, immigrants.

Im from England but live in Australia....
Im not an advocate of any party as I believe the differences between the so called 'liberals' and 'conservatives' is not a great one (In Australia and UK at least)and is mostly based on undermining and trying to demonise their opponent. They all lie, and whatever they say is usually only motivated by trying to get votes. I find it a little insulting and also quite funny at times. Our 2 party systems never fail to strike me as being a rather sad representation of democracy

Thats why I am so baffled when people are loyal to a specific party for their entire lives. That party can seemingly do no wrong in their eyes and I just dont understand this type of blind loyalty

I dont know about other people but I definately formulated my ideas about politics when I started studying modern history when I was about 14, because thats when I became interested. I went on to develop those ideas throughout school and university where I continued to study history and pol science.

American's THINK they own the world.
Europeans THINK Americans are rash, uneducated, and violent.
Middle Easterns THINK Americans are going to Destroy the world.
-but-
The Wise KNOW all of the above are true at the same time.

The source to our (american) political culture is the same as all political cultures of the past except we (americans) deny it until its too late. Our political culture is mind-controlling the mass media and the workin class slaves. Big business (the economy) rules the United States in the best interest of man's pocket book. This will continue until man starts to act out for what's right for the world and humanity rather than their self-cherishing tendancies.

republicans are biggots, and arent very well educated about their parties politics and often require slander and religious nonsense to make a case. They are also the party of unaccountability.

Democrats are more educated about their parties politics, come from all walks of life, and tend to jump at things quickly instead of plotting on how it will make them the most money and screw ovre the most people, which sometimes screws them over in return. They act on impulse.

OTher countries look at us as a bunch of bafoons, which, we are.

Radical ways of thinking, extreme conservatives and extreme liberals need to be done away with, moderates are the only sane people in this country. Live and let live, respect eachothers views. You dont have to agree with something someone thinks, to respect the person. And all actions should benefit the whole, not a single group .

I say do away with party politics, go to a 1 party system, and have people vote upon merit instead of religious biases, party afiliation, and actually learn about your candidates instead of voting dem because you hate republicans, or vote republican cause you hate gays. Its all stupid...and the rest of the world sees how stupid americans are....we just needa keep bush in office longer, hes the King of Stupid.

The source of our political, and any other aspect of, our culture is Christianity. Right or wrong, those traditions have shaped our laws, minds, attitudes, perceptions, values, ideals, and even the way we dress. Other countries / cultures have other religions embedded into their ancestry that have molded them into what they are today. Thats really what it gets down to at the root of it all.

that sounds like an assignment or essay question............the thing you need to remember is the answers given here will be (biased (from an American point of view) or subjective (from ppl of different parts of the world)

IMO, Americans are more patriotic in nature whilst the politics has influences of Judaism, Christianity and capitalism

remember, these are only subjective views so do NOT include them as your answer

There generally isn't limited government in other countries the way we have it. It seems that foreign citizens are more passive about their government whereas Americans raise hell when government tries to affect their personal life.

I don't know. I will tell you one thing though. Here in Britain it is not all Republican this and Democrats that. All that crap is very very childish and tiresome.
