When I gave blood they never asked If I had had sex often. It was a little thing on the computer, I wouldn't think it is extremely bad since they test the blood before they give it to someone, however if you have an STD they will send you out a letter. Having sex often doesn't effect your blood though.

Okay, normally I'd agree with all these people that say that it's bad to lie, but it's not a big deal because they test the blood. But I can't agree because it's WRONG. Dead wrong.

Here's why. If you have unprotected sex, and then you give blood, you can be putting people who receive that blood at potential risk of STD's including HIV. It can take 6 months for a blood test to reveal HIV, and that even includes in donated blood. How would you feel if a six-year old boy received donated blood and ended up contracting HIV? What if that blood was yours? What if your next HIV test was positive? How could you put the lives of countless others at risk by contaminating the blood supply?

I would rather you didn't donate your blood than lie about it. No one told you that you had to donate blood, you choose to do that. Be honest. Don't put others at risk. The people who ask you those questions don't give a crap about what you do with your personal life, they want to save lives.

I hope you don't lie about your medical history to your doctors. That's extremely counterproductive--the only person you are hurting is yourself.

The people who are collecting the blood don't really care about your sex life from a personal stand point. They only want to know for safety purposes and the potential for tainted blood. Think about it, even though they test it like crazy, would you want somebody who could possibly have diseases donating blood that might go into you? Just tell them the truth.

if you are promiscuous, the chance that you will transmit a blood borne pathogen is a lot greater than in a monogamous person. They don't care if you have sex with your husband, or single other significant person, 20 times a day.....what they are concerned about is if you are having sex with 20 different people in the course of a day......get the point?

YES! Because when you give blood they want to know if there is a chance of you having any std's. If the blood comes back that you do they will tell you.

Yes! They are obviously asking for a good reason. Maybe you are not the type pf person that should be giving blood! Don't do serious things when you are ignorant and just plain dumb.

They don't get specific. They are concerned with the "class" of person you have had sex with. Wow... that sounds bad doesn't it... sorry. Go to the source and see the questions they will ask you. http://www.redcross.org/services/biomed/0,1082,0_557_,00.html

dont remember them asking about sex, I think mostly it is about having sex with several men and not knowing their history,, so if you are not a slut, dont worry about it,

they have to test all blood for alot of stuff now

They want to know because someone who is promiscuous is prone or apt to contract some type of sexually transmitted disease or HIV.

They still test your blood for it even if you don't disclose it.
