I asked on Craigslist and searched the internet and there's nothing like that in my area, neither for kids nor adults.
How can I get the most attention, fun, and reward for the costumes I build, sew, and create for my kids every year?

Call a radio station or news station,they will know.They will have notices the week before,but call early the stations get their info early...

They have lots of costume contests in Denver, where I live, every year. Our local top 40 radio station, Alice 105.9, puts on a huge one every year, and the top prize gets $5,000! I've been there a couple of years and the costumes are absolutely amazing. They're for adults only, though.
As for kids, we have a place here called Fat City, which is sort of an indoor amusement park with a roller rink and laser tag and all that, and they put on a kids' costume contest every year. I don't know what the prizes are like, but I do know that they group them into age divisions and award 1st-3rd place for each division.

nicely for daphney you should purchase cheesy crimson clothing at a thrift save or ross. yet for different pair costumes... peter pan and wendy. cave adult men couple.. sophistacated couple( with high-quality black sweaters woman- colored headscarf today hair and a barret. guy - that one french jazzy finding hat.. ect)

I would make some costumes and then get everyone you know to tell everyone they know its just plain gossip.

start one in your neighborhood. talk to the teacher about having one. check the local mall
